New 3-parter with Philippa Forrester & Greg Wallace "who pay tribute to the spectacular climax of the agricultural year - harvest time. Has the good summer put Britain's farmers back on top? Which crops are the winners, and which the losers"
'Produce World' - a major supplier to leading supermarket chains will appear on the programme. "We are looking at new varieties of vegetables all the time, & work with breeders to tell them what we are looking for, & are running field trials of new sprouts - mild, strong-tasting & red" They will be harvested later this year, & if they perform well in taste tests will be grown commercially in 2014"
BBC2 - Wed, Thurs, & Fri this week - 8:00-9:00pm

Thanks Alison! I'll make a note of that and stick it on my computer! It sounds a very interesting programme. I shall be sticking to the strong-flavoured sprouts and just hope that they are labelled. I did get some red sprouts some time ago from a farmers market, but wasn't impressed and was a bit put-off by the colour. It was the same with purple carrots!

I watched the first two eps, but forgot to record the last one - which I suppose is where the red sprouts turned up?

I watched the first one but found it a bit to 'dumbed down' for my tastes. Mr Strictly, who was listening, thought the same.... Didn't bother with the other 2 programmes.
