A new 3-parter documentary over the course of a year follows Iceland Foods - charting their ups & downs & "their need to come up with more of the innovative food combinations that they're known for"

I haven't shopped there except for some prawn party finger-food a couple of years ago - which were actually rather good. Should make interesting viewing.

Starts Monday 21st - BBC2 9:00-10pm.

I watched part of it but I had things to do

i find it odd that here in trendy Stokey there's an Iceland and a Savers next to the Post Office and there seems to be a kind of force field round it keeping out the middle classes other than me and some of the young artists round here (I get some interesting conversations when a camp young Goth asks me and a Jamaican granny how best to cook something)

Why anyone (especially anyone with children) would be snobbish about frozen peas and fish fingers is beyond me

The other interesting thing about our Iceland is that several of the younger staff wear niqab, and it was clear from the bit of the documentary I saw that iceland is inclusive top down, not just our area manager

Yes, we like them, and at that price - hardly worth trying to make your own

I'm still looking forward to watching it - not enough hours in a day...

There isn't a store close by but when I do find myself near one I always leave with a carrier bagful and have never been disappointed. Probably especially with the bite-size things which as Stokey Sue says would be a lot of fiddling about to make at home.
