Well I'm a bit rattled about Jonathan Maitland's 'Superfood' programme.

I've been buying blueberries regularly since I first heard about them being a 'super food' But the programme supplied the guinea-pig testers with frozen Canadian 'wild' blueberries which appear to be the only ones with any worthwhile amounts of antioxidants.

So where can we source them? Here .......

...... for £34+ for 500g. Grrr!

I would personally just ignore anyone who claims that anything is a "Superfood"

Obviously the nutrient content of foods varies, but while I can believe there are Super diets - i.e. the whole intake, I really can't excited about Superfoods, it is IMO a completely unscientific concept IMHO; Jonathan Maitland never trained as a scientist, but as a lawyer,

It's just hype IMO

If you want to get the best intake of antioxidants and other micronutrients, eat plenty of fruit and veg, and the trick is to vary the colour and the part of the plant - so red, orange, yellow & purple fruits, green & yellow leaves, roots & tubers of all hues. That way you'll get something of everything.
