What happened to the fishbones?

This thread reminded me of some sculptures I saw a while back, but could not place them. The Burmese thread kick-started my memory - they were by the bloke that wrote my burmese cookery book, Aung Aung Taik. Love them.

Thank you juliana. I loved the pic, hence wanting it as my avatar. I had cooked a recipe like this one http://www.mybelazu.com/recipetest/herbed-sea-bass.html but used sea bream instead of the bass. I often make it using bass fillets but put them on after the rest is cooked as they only need seconds really. I think this is one of the nicest ways to cook fish. :thumbsup

Hi Sakkarin, I can't see those pics, I just get little squares in a small oblong box. I find this sometimes when friends send me emails that contain pictures, some of the pics don't actually show. I have never known why? Is there someway I can see them please?

Glad you like my fishes, I'm dead chuffed with them :D

Dena, right mouse clicking on the place where the pic should be usually works with email; then choose Download from the options it gives you, email doen't automatically pick up pictures

Sakkarin - this is what I see where you say you have sculpture photos

I get that too sometimes, Dena. They are on an external website, which may be acting up a bit.

If you "right click" the images and select "open in new tab" (or something like that), it should open up the images (in a new tab...).

EDIT: SORRY, THAT'S WHAT YOU SAID, STOKEY

Hi, I tried that Sakkarin - and got "Image not found" but then I went about it by googling his art work, (success, not on a plate though ) Not sure if they were the ones you posted though. He reminds me a little of H. R. Giger, the guy whose work was the basis of the alien in the film "Aliens" https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=H.R.+ ... 50&bih=421

I haven't tried on email yet Stokey Sue, thanks for the tip :thumbsup - I'll try next time I get one.

I suppose they are - but I love Giger anyway! I have this book:

And I would rather like one of these...

Although I already have two of these...

Wow, brilliant, another fan of Giger, lots of people either don't like him or don't know who he is. I've just realised that I loaned the book I have/had to someone and I haven't got it back.

Not too sure I would like a 7ft alien, brilliant as it is, in my house though. Used to go out with a SFX guy once, (even went to the premier of Alien) and some of his work (mostly for Hammer films) used to give me the heebeejeebies. I used to use a lot of cuttlefish ink when I cooked for him

When I was a graphic designer, I had a client whose offices were in Bray Studios, when they were making the film "The Witches" there, and quite a few of the props somehow ended up in his office - I was very jealous of them!

Another friend's dad was Paddy Ryan, stuntman in many of the old-time movies, who had some of the original Ray Harryhausen models... even more jealous!

Did you ever meet Ian Scoones, I used to go out with him and we ended up really good friends. Although he didn't work on Aliens it was through him that I got the invite. He was on the original Dr. Who and Blakes Seven before he branched out into films. Remember he once pinched all of my asparagus ferns (letting them grow one year to make them stronger the next.) They ended up as a forest on an Alien planet. Gosh Sakkarin, a trip down memory lane, those really were the days :thumbsup

I did have a couple of Ian's models, nothing very grand though apart from a severed head with all the bits hanging  , but my No.1 son appropriated it   . I once gave him, he said, "the best birthday present - ever" A friend of mine had had a new floor put down and under the floorboards of the old one there was a perfect skeleton of a mouse she said I could have it and that was this best ever present.

Thanks Sakkarin, but OMG those poor cats. They don't seem to feel sorry for themselves though, not like these

Now I know where they got the idea of Gremlins from.
