Datterina tomatoes

Postby Dena » Wed Apr 16, 2014 3:17 pm

I recently bought some of these from Ocado and they are one of the nicest tomatoes I have ever eaten.

I have searched high and low but cannot seem to find any seeds anywhere. Does anyone know if they are available in the U.K. please?

I have tried Jekkas Herbs, Thompson and Morgan, Fothergills, etc. no joy :(

Hi Dena - I think the reason there are no seeds on the market, is that they need the intense sunshine to come to their fabulous flavour!

I was able to get a box of them from the veg wholesaler, for a large lunch I did last summer. They were delicious.

We served them with equally fab burrata and lots of olive oil

Oh Sue! Thanks. That was a silly Gaf of mine. I know she died, and when I replied to this one, I had a mental blank - thinking it was Denada! Silly me.

God bless Dena!
