Re: Chatterbox
Yes juliana50 it is The Chase on ITV and we like watching it too but I don't think I'm that good, he, however is, so I think it should be him. I have never thought of seriously considering it. I think it would be stage fright for me and wouldn't be able to answer the questions due to nerves!...
I don't know why he keeps saying that I should go on there!

Re: Chatterbox
Probably because you keep giving the answers when the questions come up! I too would totally dry up when under the spotlight. Much more fun to watch (and join in) from the safety of one's own sofa!

Is it that you keep shouting at the TV by any chance? Gotta be quick though on the button press - I'd be in the "I would have said that" category but way too slow and often wrong
Did you see that episode last week when a contestant was dared to go for £50K or was it £55K? Got through, and on the final chase the two of them won the £60K pot? Go for it Girlfriend

Yes julianna better from the comfort of the settee. It is always easier to answer at home than in front of the camera. I went for a screen test with ITV a couple of years ago and was nervous but, had I been on my own I think I would have been fine. Anyhoo thats another story.

Yes jeral, I am one of those that shouts at the TV and I am also in the category of "I would have said that", but sometimes have the answer before their answers come up. I did see the one where she was challenged to go for the 55k and got it and I was sooo pleased for them.

Some poor wee amunals that have been eating too many of those McCain's Oven Chips we were talking about...

Loved the croc jumping out and the Zebra's trying to roll away.
That little thing was ear piercingly annoying, sounded like one of those squeaky toys that dogs play with...hmmm

Re: Chatterbox
Actually I did think he was rather cute, but then I am very fond of snakes and spiders as well. We had a midwife toad who used to live in the garden here. We called him Nestor
I have sent the clip on to the GCs who will love it so thanks Sakkarin.

Love the French!!!
Joan, we had a midwife toad in our garden, too, and in the evening he would entertain himself by whistleing a bit. Not in tune, just a single, low whistle with a short break and then again, always the same note.
Used to drive my mother mad, she thought one of the neighbours was pulling her leg.

Re: Chatterbox
Is that what it is called? A midwife toad, never heard of it. Strange looking creature.
Re: Chatterbox
I forget what the French in the clip is, but it's not a midwife toad. That's something living in these parts and not tropical.

Looks different, too.

Re: Chatterbox
Hi Uschi
That's Nestor in spades
My favourites are the tree frogs ( rainettes) http://www.google.fr/imgres?q=rainettes ... x=94&ty=67
When Dad was staying with us he kept asking where the duck was because that's what they sound like. Grandson asked the same question a few years later and I made him a little book about the Duck Frog. He still has it.

Re: Chatterbox
The first ones made me laugh, Sakk, but that little Namaqua rain frog could get quite annoying!
Thanks for the information about the midwife toad, Uschi! It was fascinating to read about their lifestyle.

Re: Chatterbox
I think I just have frogs in the garden, Uschi, although I rarely see them.
How is your mum, Puss? I'm sorry to hear about her broken wrist. Is she managing to cope?

Ah I see, thanks uschi.
Renee, she is ok, they only kept her in for one night and we all live pretty close by she has plenty of help. Thanks for asking. xx

Re: Chatterbox
Do you have a pond nearby that you can see (I don't mean one in another garden where you can't get close), Renée? Then keep an eye on the pond, toads and frogs must be getting out and about now to mate.
Re: Chatterbox
There is a good-sized pond in nearby Cuerden Country park and also a large lake. I might spend some time on the bench at the pond, but that will be when it gets a bit warmer. There are always plenty of ducks on the water. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Chatterbox
When we lived in Newcastle our cat, Sebastien, somehow found a source of toads - in a completely residential area. Though some big houses with ponds. He used to bring them, unharmed, throught the cat flap into the kitchen.
One Mothers' Day I went downstairs to find 7 sitting around the kitchen. We never knew how but he did it!
