I can't believe that two years has passed by, Gill. I'm glad that you're making good use of the board and being handmade makes it really special.

Monday ´s Eats were at a Gastro Trade Fair, my husband and I are attending in Madrid Capital ..

At the 16th Anniversary of Madrid Fusion, lunch were a tiny clay dish of Boletus with Spanish Arborio Rice, and the 2nd was a cream of Chick Pea Soup which was actually a vanguard take on a hot pot of a Madrid Cocido / Stew ..

Then moving on downstairs were glasses of Champagne and fresh shucked oysters ..

It was just enough too ..

Have a lovely evening ..

Late here, 1am ..

Thank you, Lush and Renee.

Alexandria, sounds like a perfect event. And Spain knows how to do "just right" in the food department.
We must go back to Madrid. We visited Segovia this year instead, nice and traditional. Didn't have suckling pig once however although we stayed up really really late for us (midnight)!

Mark, never seen Ironchef before. Those look like retro episodes.

Tonight I shall marinade something in yoghurt.
Maybe spiced. Fish perhaps, we shall see when I stare blankly at the food shelves in the shops this afternoon.
I'll start a thread, as I've got no idea, but I do need to eat/cook 1 kilo of it.

Just had an extremely hectic few days. DD and S_I_L flew in to clear the top floor of their house next door so conversion work can start. Trouble is there was a lot of our stuff stored up there - about which more elsewhere.

I tried to provise food I know they love and don't get to eat in the UK.
So they have had Marseilles fish soup with all the bits

Duck confit with Sarladaise potatoes and broccoli followed by HM creme brulee

HM Pissaladiere and green salad.

Choucroute garni, farmhouse Munster cheese and then a HM mirabelle tart and ice cream.

Yesterday we had aa pork roast with HM sage and onion. borrdelaise turnips and potatoes cooked under the meat. I made a huge blood orange.

Have a lovely day ..

Roast tarragon and garlic chicken, and some white wine in the roasting tin. I will add sliced potatoes to the roasting tin. A drizzle of honey over the top towards the end of the cooking time.

I don't feel very much like cooking yet.

Gil

Those are from the nineties and original stuff, in my biased mind, the best series of iron chef out there.

You been under the weather Renee (sorry if you've said elsewhere).
Chicken here tonight too. Breast pieces, but once again I'm not sure how.

I'll look at my new Thai book on Kindle and see if something inspires.
And pop into the Asian Market opposite my studio for any provisions required. I did buy some chinese curry paste from there, but it makes food taste like coffee.
I wonder if there's chicory in it?

Something using Chicken breast here tonight too - well that's the plan - it might very well change, I've had this damn lurgy that's doing the rounds & coughing myself senseless - it does alter your tastebuds leaving a metallic taste in the mouth!

Looks good Dennis but I couldn't manage all those carbs.

Supper was a chicken liver gougerre with a mixed leaf salad and a distastrous frozen dessert form Picard which turned out tocontain cocnut, to which I am seriously, but not catastophicallt allergic. No indication except line 15 out of 18 which could only be read with a strong magnifying glass., thyme and lemon coulis. Result, as mad dash for antihistamines, totally numb lips and a sneezing fit that lasted nearly half an hour.

Today we hosted a freind who is undergoing cancer treatment and her husband - who seems to be suffereing just as much. I tried to provide food I know they both love. So the menu was

Smoked eel on rye bread with fresh horseradish cream, balsamic beetroot salad, watercress and yellow pepper, thyme and lemon coulis.

Slow roast shoulder of lamb cooked on a bed of potato slices with whole grlic and rosemary. Garlic green beans

Cheese

Crepes Suzette

I would enjoy that, Petronius! The chips look nice and crispy and the salad looks very colourful!

I'm making a pork casserole, yet again. I'm using lean shoulder pork steaks, because I'm trying to empty my freezer.

I hope that you feel better soon Lush. If it's the virus that I had, it lasts almost two weeks.

Yesterday's curry, Mamta's Chicken Curry. 45 minutes from scratch for this plateful, including the pilau rice.

That sounds amazing :yum So jealous when I am eating everything from one pot.

My last 2 nights teas:

- Chorizo & potato "hash" with eggs cracked in and steamed.
- Chicken and green beans with pesto and cream with crusty bread.

I am pining for a roast chicken
