Not sure if you'd drink that or inject it directly into the vein...

Ooo la la darling.

Saves on the wash up too putting it all together like that in one glass.
I wonder if it tastes like a tia maria & baileys mix. I insist you find out, Sue.

Strictly, no wonder it tastes like a fake bounty bar then.
I shall stick to my cappuccino from now on - no sprinkles thank you.

There's no dairy in it, so my guess is mot much like Baileys, fortunately as I'm not a fan. Need to get some Kahlua or Tia Maria first.. preferably Kahlua for cocktails I think.
Or see if I can have one in a bar

Well this thread has gone full circle.

Not quite three years since I bought the unit, and the "bore" has worn to the extent that the seals do not fit snugly any more, so I've just ordered a complete new kit. The last seal I bought just 6 months ago.

So there you have it. The life of the unit was nearing 2000 cups of coffee, and required two or three extra seals at £9 each and 5 or so extra packs of filters.

I liked the aeropress, and will dig it out again sometime soon.
But a few times I did throw coffee over the kitchen if I lost my concentration during the press.

Mine's still got excellent seal after having gone through one set of filter discs. However many that is.

I only drink Double Espresso 1st thing in the early am so if travelling, obviously, the Bar of the Hotel or a Bar nearby.

At home, the best Espresso I have had is the Cafente which is from an Asturian Coffee Company which dates back to the 1930s ..

I use a Stratto Espresso Maker, manufactured by Cafente in Asturias or do stove top with an old Spanish & Italian style iron Coffee Pot which serves 4 ..

Never milk and never sugar .. And a piece of lemon zest to rub along the rim of the Espresso Cup ..
Barcelona, soulful & spirited, filled with fine art, amazing architecture, profoundly steeped in culture & history, and it engages all your senses, and food fancies.

Where is this on the coffee paraphernalia silly scale? An in-car espresso machine specially for an Audi.

I might have said it before, but pods seem to me like a sneaky way of getting you to pay 30p for 6g of coffee, when for comparison the coffee I grind myself works out 6p for 6g, or currently just 4.9p with these

FAB SPECIAL OFFERS AT TESCO ON COFFEE BEANS!!!
discovered when I went to work out that price! Offer is for two weeks, until Dec 5th, no doubt they'll have run out if you leave it too long to take advantage.

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/s ... -beans/all

Or do these refillable pods get round that problem? Or might you just as well use an Aeropress?

It's not just cost
If you are lucky enough to encounter a small volume or artisan producer, either at home or away, they are unlikely to make pods, but will sell you beans

You are both right Saks & Sue.....& thanks both for bringing me back to my senses.....'twas the red shiny exterior & neat figure that made me lust....

Actually - I've got a big Delonghi filter/espresso coffee maker taking up far too much room on my worktop & hasn't been used in ages that I really should get rid of but can't bring myself to do it for some reason...........I must be strong!

Obviously I didn't read to the end of Sakkarin's post.

It seems to me though that if you faff around filling your own capsules, you lose the only real advantage of a pod machine, convenience

I wish that link was an Aldi machine, Sakkarin, not Audi.
It would be more in my price range.

Ditto on the coffee machine, Lush. I use it once or twice a year. It was so cheap, it honestly has earned its money over the decade I've had it.
But they keep pristine.

I reckon I'm getting a coffee pod maker.
We used one at breakfast in our spa hotel - a Clooney-boy one.
I really liked the coffee it produced, and Tony was asking prying questions.

I'd probably use knock off pods that don't require refilling, but seem half the price.

Tick, one present in my stocking this year.

I've got an Audi and last time I was in the dealership, they offered me a discount on one of the coffee machines - I didn't take them up on it!
I have a pod machine for its convenience (and the one I have has really good espresso variants, which is my favourite type) but I've heard that the self-fill pods don't work well so have never tried them.

it's a handpresso machine - they're cheaper without the audi branding and they show up on eBay from time to time.
you may need to keep the car engine running to keep up the charge in the battery!

Pampy - which machine do you have? It was for the espresso that I've been looking at them, but so much choice now & I don't need another gizmo gathering dust....

It's the Nescafe Dolce Gusto - cost me less than £30 in a sale 3 years ago. Have a look at the varieties of espresso that they do https://www.dolce-gusto.co.uk/coffee-po ... sso-drinks My favourite is the ristretto ardenza.

Coffee's the hero for today - anything that might defer prostate (and liver) problems has got to be good...

Three coffees a day linked to a range of health benefits

I have to mention that I overdosed on caffeine last week, and it was not pleasant, akin to a hangover, but my sight went woozy as well.

Will link this in the "health" thread.
