Busy busy I know!!

Only thru one episode, but I like it. Not over top like JM or others. Can't wait for the rest.

So far so good.

He had me with the choc flourless cake.

I was curious about the desert he had.....sounded like delicia alemone. I thought he said cake with custard in it, covered with cream. Anyone have a more correct name for that. Would like to know more about it.

Thanks to all.

Hi. I haven't seen Gino's programme but I think he'll be saying delizioso al limone. The nearest I can find is this recipe (assuming Gino's is in his book):

There's an Italian custard cake that seems to fit what you describe, but it's vanilla not lemon. Maybe Gino's is a cross between the two?

I love custard, so if you make one, please send us a slice :yum

I thought the torta with the almonds looked wonderful. I was interested to see Capri too, as you often hear about it but for some reason seldom see it on TV

I'm kicking myself.
Last year, he was in Southern Italy - Sowthern as he says.
And recommended a sparkling wine that they would all drink rather than prosecco. Which wasn't rated highly.

He had the bottle cooling nicely in the sea, and I believed I'd remember the name. Never did!

Always liked Gino's recipes, so I must catch up on the series.

Hang on, I see it's on youtube ................ back in half an hour.

Was it Pignoletto?

Didn't see the programme, but I prefer it to Prosecco.

Jeral, Renee

Thank you for the link. That was indeed it.

Looks Dee-lish but kinda labour intensive too.

It talked about the semisphere tins. Anyone have a clue as to what size. Thanks

mark111757, the tin looks like silicon to me, so is probably one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cavity-Sphere- ... dpSrc=srch

I imagine that the volume of the semispheres is very similar irrespective of which brand. Also that the volume is very similar to a 6-cup muffin tray which is what the baker of the original recipe uses. Presumably the recipe makes the right amount.

I must apologise to Renée for following her earlier. For some reason the screen didn't tell me that a new post had arrived when I posted mine.

Yes, must apologise to Linnet too. I popped my post into hers by mistake - corrected now.

Sue - the wine is on your link. His recommendation is from his Lombardia episode right at the end @ 20mins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDTdLCbk5IE
Franciacorta.

And going over these episodes, I'm really convinced he's a very good chef. He made little stuffed nibbles with cream cheese.
Plus a super tomato & fish dish.

Love the look of that lemon dome dessert too, but I haven't seen his recent episodes yet.

I remember in epi 2 I think of coastal escape, there was a beverage he talked about. It was cooling in a net fastened to the boat he was on. I thought he spoke very highly of it as well

Recipe for lemon desert looked good. A bit labour intensive.

Jeral, thank you for the link to the tins, will check that out.

Here is one example of franciacorta for sale
