Fernet branca?
I had almost forgotten about Fernet branca and then I saw this

I wonder if it is the same, my ex used to always have a bottle around as a hangover cure he swore by it. I hated it.

Re: Fernet branca?
That isn't quite Fernet Branca is it? it's Aldi's copy of Jagermeister I suspect

Fernet Branca is Italian, and more expensive and a bit less sugary I think (described as a digestive, not a liqueur)

There's also Zwack Unicum (the price here is silly, it is cheap enough in Hungary)

All much of a muchness as far as I'm concerned - I don't mind the occasional one.

Hi Stokey Sue, I don't/didn't know anything about Jagermeister, it was just when I read the ingredients I thought of F.B. as that too was made from herbs, etc. brought back memories of a very bitter drink.
Makes sense though being German.

Re: Fernet branca?
I have just got back from a rather boozy 4 hour lunch at the end of which was offered Fernet Branca alongside cognac etc and fruit liqueuers. Two ladies opted for it - one Swiss the other Danish
I was a bit cheeky and asked how much FB costs here - apparently €16.00. Not that I will be rushing out to buy any - I and the entire French contingent preferred the 20 year old calvados - didn't ask the price

Re: Fernet branca?
it occurs to me Dena tha tif you hadn't heard of Jagermeister you wouldn't know why Aldi think it worth selling in the UK
It is not as obscire as it used to be, and the reason is the Jagebomb (Jagermeisterr + Red Bull + a bit of ritual) - popular among clubbers
