I'm off to work now, and asked Gill to deal with the flack, if she's around...
As I'm the one that started this thread off, I apologise if it's becoming uncomfortable. In fact the thought crossed my mind yesterday afternoon so I tried to look to see if there were any forum rules to consider. If the majority of us would prefer it to be suspended, then that is fine by me. Although I only started this thread from a purely pragmatic viewpoint (i.e. how much is our food going to cost) I can see how difficult it is to avoidte the P-word under the circumstances

Ever since this post first appeared I've been tempted to say something. However, I've refrained as it is far too early to make any assumptions.
I agree with Sakkarin that this post should be taken down.

So far we've not handbagged each other.
One thing I noticed from abroad is how difficult people found it to find halfway independent information to base their decision on and how little was known about the subject.
To me, that shows the dangers of referenda: people deciding on things they can hardly grasp (re: lack of information).

You're absolutely right, Uschi!
The referendum shouldn't have happened, although the fishermen on the south coast seem ecstatic.

With regret, I will not be visiting this food chat page again. It is not the place for this sort of discussion. As Sakkarin has intimated, 'not on this food board.'

well well well.
I see A Merkel is mentioning the employment problem of the youth in Europe, after all these years.
Good news, that's a giant step.

I'm sure he'll be better than anyone of the current politicians.
