What a feast WWF.
You don't fancy doing an event for my birthday In August here do you? Trouble is you would have to bring the halumi with you.

I would love to. I will let you contact my current employer to sweet talk them into letting me have the rest of August off
Re: What's everyone eating this week?
Yes, it's a pity us lot can't hover up the leftovers of that feast, especially if there weren't any - good for you, bad for us
Well done WhitefieldFoodie
Renée, re halloumi, if you haven't bought any for a while remember it is or can become very wet so best stood on a saucer in the fridge after opening. It goes well with dates and therefore walnut pieces too (as well as olives and other typical meze items).
On é, it's alt+0233 on my desktop keyboard, and the "press, hold and slide to mini menu" on my Android phone. Everything is information overload that we're expected to retain at our fingertips now. No wonder microwaves meals are popular: 1) Heat; 2) Eat.

I do love a chicken dish with a creamy sauce, Renee.
(shhhhhh, don't tell anyone, it's quite easy to cook too).
Chicken in breadcrumbs last night. With a green salad.
Pusta tonight, as John Torode would say. Prawn pusta.

Prawn pusta
Hoping to get one last go at the prawn & asparagus linguini (Tessa Kiros) next week before the English grass season finishes

Where does everyone buy their prawns from? I'm not always happy with the ones that I buy.

Re: What's everyone eating this week?
I buy frozen Nordic prawns from Picard. They are sustainable, as is almost all their fish. Far better than some of the offerings from very dodgy sources indeed.
I poached a whole chicken in the middle of the week and it lasted us until last night in various guises. Last night it was as a vol au vent filling with mushrooms and I served grilled Provencal tomatoes with them. Vinaigrette with which has to be the last of the asparagus. In addition we have had a curried chicken salad with fresh apricots and cashews.
I also made a batch of baked rum and banana custards, which are rather naughty but rather gorgeous. They also leave me plenty of egg white to make meringues.
We had eaten loads of melons and watermelons because it has been so very hot - almost reached 38 twice, a record for June.
We have friends coming for lunch tomorrow , en route for the coast from Paris. I am aiming for a practically no-cook meal. Gazpacho made and in fridge. Lemon/ginger cheese cake beside it, I am defrosting a piece of gammon, brought by a friend from Waitrose. So I'll cook that later and we'll have it with garden spuds, green beans and parsely sauce.

I buy prawns from Iceland, either the large raw king prawns for curries and stir fries, or the North Atlantic ones for salads etc.
Rumour has it that the raw black tiger prawns are nicer than the king prawns, but they come frozen in a block so not very practical for me

Thanks, Sue. I'll try Iceland and will get the North Atlantic prawns.

As George Bernard Shaw once said : " not bloody likely" :
Yours truly, although it didn`t actually take that long. The complication of the two curries is getting the spice mix right, really. The snacks were relatively quick to make, except for the pakoras.
And the booze was left over from my son`s wedding!
Re: What's everyone eating this week?
Yeah, I know what you mean! I invited family round for a meal on Mother's Day. I preferred doing that to going out for a meal.
How do you make the courgette and sweet potato pakoras? I would love those.
